What a glorious day! The sound of children’s laughter, games, a bible story and worship in the park, I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We really did have “Fun with the Son”.
A cloudy start to the day gave way to an afternoon of sunshine. After erecting the tent and installing the sound system; rescuing the tent after it had blown over the fence, putting the finishing touches to the display boards, by the appointed time of three o’clock we were ready.
We started the afternoon with songs of worship; then the A.L.F. leaders got the children involved in a game of Dodgems, with hilarious results, as a few leaders decided to go against the general flow of traffic. The installation of “traffic lights” helped. And the following bible story elaborated on the need to follow rules, and how God sometimes asks us to Stop, or to Wait & Get Ready, and then to Go.
The Bouncy castle was a real attraction, many children arriving, leaving and coming back with friends.
The afternoon closed with more singing, and time to chat to anyone who was interested in what we were doing.
A Glorious Day, and lots of “Fun with the Son”.
